Column 8 is back online - finally, Fairfax sees sense
Fairfax has restored online access to The Sydney Morning Herald's Column 8.
Fairfax's archived copies of the column are here. However, the Wednesday 18 September 2009 column is not there. North Coast Voice's presentation of it is here.
As an Australian living in the UK, losing column 8 was a real blow. I would read it every morning during my tea break, and often my comments back to column 8 were published. It was my secure lifeline back to the real Australia and made me feel part of a broader global community of cheerful pedants. I sent several angry emails to Fairfax threatening to come over on the next plane to sort it out in person! I'm sure there were many around the world more than a short walk from the nearest news-stand selling the Herald that felt the same. I am overjoyed to see it back. Cheers! bundanoonboy
