 It seemed that the part he was most sensitive about was whether I was going to expose his invisible role as a ringleader – of the coup, and of the treatment I’d received since. He asked the same question in various different ways, along the lines of ‘It’s not anything I have done is it?’ ‘You don’t have a problem with me, do you?’ ‘Are you sure there’s nothing I’ve done to make you want to leave?’ Would I expose that he was a bully?
