Are your blog's visitors coming with additional political spam?

Cartoon from Puzzlehead

Speaking with a fellow blogger this week he complained that his blog is receiving double the amount of spam it usually receives and all of this increase is anti-carbon tax propaganda and right-wing abuse. North Coast Voices also noticed a similar spike, along with a sudden rash of adult content.

Could this be the answer?

The Age 16 October 2011:

Rumour on the NSW North Coast is that many of these winged monkeys and spammers are actually being paid by the Bernardi propaganda machine.

Although the spam must be a pain, the good news is that this blog is seen as an effective site.
There is money behind those organisations trying to kill free speech and then there is North Coast Voices.
Congratulations on making a difference, keep up the good work.

I agree with the good work coment by Sue... I am becoming a more frequent reader and am quite often surprised at the information I find here which means some good research must be going on.

It is fascinating how rapidly the right works out the cracks in a system in order to undermine it. Whether it be global finance, democracy or internet spam. For example I've been watching stories on The Punch and I noticed the first comment was usually from "Erick" sprouting right-wing nonsense to denounce or fluff up the article. The ABC opinion site is also seeing more right-nutters respond first.

Yes, the internet which really opens so many posibilities , seems to have given the raving rightwing ratbags, the idiots, and the other nasties a geat chance to spread their poison. I find much of the rubbish written by journalists is not much better these days either.
