Editor Peter Chapman takes a swipe at the noisy minority as he prepares to leave The Daily Examiner for Queensland's The Fraser Coast Chronicle, after less than 15 months in the Clarence Valley.
Which possibly makes him the shortest-term editor but one The Daily Examiner has ever had in its 150 year history.
In November 2008 Peter gave a talk to Grafton U3A which indicated that he has worked on at least thirteen different print and television media outlets since the early 1970s, as well as for approximately four sporting bodies.

The extent to which hacks in the MSM - that means you Peter, since you are obviously an avid reader here :) - are spooked by blogs is amazing. They pretend to sneer at their insignificance but only succeed in confirming how much they fear them.

At least Pete was honest enough to concede that he regards the 'news'paper as nothing more than a vehicle to promote his own personal opinions. Hervey Bay's loss is the Clarence's gain.

The departing editor seemed to want to turn the DE into some kind of folksy love-in with his sentimental and at times very personal, which is better left private, coverage , instead of providing people with good old fashioned informative news about the issues if the day.Comtempoary journalism seems to be degenerating into solipsistic nonsense. The DE may be better off with the current editor's departure...
